Oak Apple Records will release its first compilation of Edmonton artists on Tuesday, Dec. 7.Fresh Fruit — Volume One features 12 tracks by the likes of pop-rock absurdists Taking Medication (pictured above), and power-pop duo Making A Monster. The label, started by local singer-songwriter Nathaniel Sutton, will host a release party on Saturday, Dec. 18 at Lyve on Whyte, with sets by Taking Medication, minimalists Fiction Smiles, rockers The Shakedowns, and ‘90s revivalists Zero Something.

Hello. Welcome to my blog site that I will constantly be updating to inform everyone with the current news  regarding the various musical things I am involved with including Nathaniel Sutton, Oak Apple Records, Taking Medication, Making a Monster, and more!

Nathaniel Sutton - This is my name, I also use it as my artist name as a solo musician. I am currently recording my self-titled acoustic album which will be available in 2011 and includes a variety of instruments to accompany my acoustic values. Oak Apple Records - Oak Apple Records is an independent label based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Since March 25th, 2009 this label has been active with a small roster but huge intentions! Taking Medication - Taking Medication are an original band based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Crossing paths of numerous genre lines, Taking Medication can be described as quirky pop/rock with a sprinkling of country, a pinch of electronica, and a splash of rap to throw things off. Making a Monster - Making a monster has been described as a full-rock attack - with a decidedly Grunge bent and bring a shock-wave of energy to their every performance. Currently, the band is made up of members Scott Auriat and Nathaniel Sutton, expect to hear their latest album due for release in 2011 on Oak Apple Records. http://www.makingamonster.com
